The Readingpen®
Basic Edition
The Readingpen Basic Edition is a fully
portable, self-contained assistive reading device that is designed specifically
for school age reading levels. Featuring American Heritage Children's
Dictionary and Children's Thesaurus, it provides a simple and easy way for
people with reading difficulties, learning disabilities or dyslexia to get
immediate word support when they are reading.
Features and Specifications
The Reading Pen Basic develops and speaks dictionary definitions and thesaurus
entries. The battery operated pen is easy to use and contains over 13,000
definitions from the American Heritage Children's Dictionary.
How it works: Users glide the pen's
optical scanner over a word or a full line of text and the words are read aloud.
The word appears on the LCD screen in large characters. Words can be
defined or pronounced at a touch of a button. Built-in speaker provides
clear, sound or for optimal clarity, users can use the included earphone.
Extra 5 pack of earphones sold separately. Includes. Carrying Case,
User Manual, Quick Start Guide, Earphone, 2 AAA batteries and an attachable
Helper Guide (holds the Pen upright and keeping the Scanner in line with the
words on the page.). Not recommended for students with severe low vision
or impaired motor functions.

480,000 words, featuring the American Heritiage College Dictionary.
