Verbal expressions, body language, gestures, and facial expression, is a very neglected area of communication.  This book teaches those those who have communicative difficulties and those who do not, this highly complex and subtle language.  Students learn to "read" expressions from the facial expression cards and in scenarios, and generalize this knowledge.  "Getting the Message" helps especially students who have communication problems to understand the importance of these other means of communication and to effectively read critical social interactions and situations.
