ELSB is a
research based literacy curriculum for students ages 5-10 with significant
developmental disabilities, including autism. Two years of ongoing
research through the University of North Carolina Charlotte have shown ELSB to
be much more effective than a sight word only approach.
This multi-year curriculum addresses
NRP critical components, phonics plus sight word instruction, scripted lessons,
accommodations for children who communicate nonverbally, and connections to
general education standards.
